We present this work in honor of the poet’s 75th birthday.

 

These are
the sweet girls
who go to the matinee.
These are
the sweet girls
prepared to be the echo,
prepared to be the small round pebble in the center
stirring the concentric
circles
while the waves move further and further away.

These are
the girls with smooth
skin
and a soul
even smoother and,
without curves.
